To the Heart That Holds Us All
Honouring the Quiet Strength of Mothers Everywhere
To the person who holds the world together,
With tired hands and a heart that never breaks—
We see you.
We honour you.
We love you.
You gave up sleep so we could rest,
You stayed behind so we could go ahead.
You swallowed tears with a smile on your face,
So we could feel safe, brave, and loved.
Every packed lunch,
Every washed sock,
Every whispered “It’s okay”—
was a poem written in the language of love.
You traded your time so we could have more,
Held your breath through our storms,
Taught us how to be kind,
how to forgive,
how to stand up,
how to stay soft.
You gave even when no one noticed.
You kept going when no one asked.
You stayed strong when you felt like falling apart.
Behind every child who dares to dream
is a mother who dared to give everything.
You are the quiet hero,
The heartbeat of the home,
The keeper of peace,
The guardian of joy.
With your hands you’ve built a life.
With your voice, you’ve shaped a soul.
With your love,
you’ve changed the world.
So today—
and every day—
We say thank you.
Thank you for the invisible things.
For the emotional labour.
For the small things that weren’t small at all.
Thank you for raising hearts,
not just humans.
For pouring your whole being
into the lives of those you love.
You were created to love—
but let us love you in return.
Let us hold you up,
as you have held us.
To my mother.
To my wife.
To my sister. My aunt. My cousin.
To every woman who has mothered a soul—
The words from my mouth may stumble, but the words from my heart sing out.
You are not just appreciated. You are cherished.
You are not just important. You are irreplaceable.
You are not just strong. You are sacred.
Happy Mother’s Day.
This world is softer, safer, and more beautiful—because of you.
